Michelle Jones – Director of Strategy and Governance
Michelle joined Invictus in April 2024 as Head of Governance and Compliance, bringing with her over a decade of experience in the education sector. She was appointed Director of Strategy and Governance in December 2024, reflecting her strategic insight and deep understanding of governance across multi-academy trusts.

A qualified Governance Professional and experienced Data Protection Officer, Michelle has previously held senior roles at trusts in both the Northwest and West Midlands. She is known for her meticulous attention to detail, strong policy-writing skills, and ability to build robust governance frameworks that support effective leadership and compliance.

Michelle’s career has spanned roles including Company Secretary, Data Protection Officer, Complaints Coordinator, Office Manager and Finance Administrator —providing expert advice to Boards and Executive Teams and leading on trust-wide strategic initiatives, compliance, and policy development.

Outside of work, Michelle plays crown green bowls at both club and county level and is a proud Aston Villa season ticket holder.
